Etymologically, the word takjil comes from the Arabic word ‘ajjala–yu‘ajjilu–ta‘jīlan, which means to hasten, referring to the recommendation to hasten breaking the fast at Maghrib time. However, within Indonesian cultural context, the term takjil has shifted in meaning to refer to food or drinks served for breaking the fast. The tradition of sharing takjil has developed into a form of social concern carried out by various groups, ranging from the general public and university students to educational institutions and social organizations.
The method of implementing this community service activity was carried out at Mushola Miftahul Jannah Banjarmasin. The takjil distribution activity aimed to provide a real contribution in strengthening togetherness, social awareness, and community empowerment within the area surrounding the mushola.
The activity, which was held on March 6, 2026, produced positive impacts in the form of gratitude from community members who felt helped by the takjil distribution, happiness among children, and closer relationships between university students and the local community.
